First Arts Academy Policies

SRING SEMESTER 2026
  • The spring semester of lessons includes lessons from January 6th through May 31st. This will include 20 weeks of lessons.
  • The Academy will be closed the following dates of the spring semester:
    o January 19, 2026 (MLK Day)
    o March 16-20, 2026 (Spring Break)
    o April 3, 2026 (Good Friday)
    o May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day)
  • Make up lessons will be offered for any closures that cause the lesson count to fall below 20 weeks.
  • The spring semester will consist of five monthly payments, which should be made by the 5th of each month.
Tuition
  • 30-minute weekly lessons | $120 monthly (Beginning and Intermediate Students)
  • 60-minute weekly lessons | $240 monthly (Advanced Students)
  • Payments should be made by the 5th of each month.
Student Expectations
  • The student is expected to arrive on time for each lesson.
  • The student is expected to bring all necessary materials (instrument (as applicable), notebook, folder, lesson books, etc.) to each lesson.
  • The student is expected to practice regularly as is appropriate based on the age and ability of each student. Suggested practice schedule will be discussed with the teacher.
  • The student is expected to be an active participant in each lesson.
  • The student is expected to treat him/herself, instruments, materials, and the teacher(s) with respect.
Registration
  • The Academy requires a credit/debit card for payment. Please click ‘Recurring Payment’ when you register, for your convenience. You can cancel lessons and payments any time before the 1st of the month.
  • Once the registration is complete, new students will be contacted to schedule lessons with preferred teachers.
Calendar
  • Private lessons may be scheduled to begin at any time.
  • Lessons will not be held the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s. Spring Break is determined by the instructor.
  • Other holidays in which the academy is closed will be communicated in advance with possible make-up lessons at the discretion of the teacher and student.
  • Some instructors hold recitals for their students throughout the year. These dates will be communicated when available.
Instruments and Music
  • Except for piano and voice, all students are required to provide their own instruments. Information can be provided on rental and purchase options upon request.
  • Private students are required to provide their own music unless otherwise noted by the instructor.
Cancellations
  • Teachers can communicate their make-up lesson policy for their studio.
  • Cancellation of all future lessons by parent/student can be communicated prior to the first of the month to end future payments.
