Dave was born April 12, 1982, in St. Louis, Missouri. He lived there until shortly after his sixteenth birthday, when his family relocated to Athens, Alabama. After graduating from high school, Dave attended Murray State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2004.
After college, Dave attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending First Baptist Church of New Orleans, he met his future wife, Brooke, who was working on her Ph.D. at Tulane University. That same year, Dave began serving on staff at Summit Baptist Church as minister of students. In August 2006, Dave and Brooke were married. While on staff at Atlanta’s Summit Baptist, Dave graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2008 from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
In June 2010, Dave was called to serve as minister of students at CrossPoint Church in Trussville, Alabama. In May 2016, Dave completed his Doctorate of Ministry degree, with a focus on Christian Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Dave became the senior pastor of FBC Pensacola on July 8, 2018. He has a passion to preach, lead, and equip believers to fulfill the Great Commission.
Dave and Brooke have three beautiful children. Their delightful daughter Eden is eight, son Jude is a busy five-year-old, and toddler Elias is perhaps happiest when he’s eating. Dave enjoys reading, journaling, visiting with people over coffee, and following St. Louis Cardinals baseball. You can follow him on twitter @dbonesnyder.
