How Can I Help?

The dream for Children of Christ Home was born in October, 2011 to a group of men and women from First Baptist Church of Pensacola and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola in partnership with But God Ministries.  This group of people designed the initial buildings, raised the money for the building, provided a fresh water well, had the buildings built and now the orphanage is in operation.   These facilities include four buildings:  two buildings which will house up to 32 children; a kitchen/cafeteria building; and a building that houses showers and bathroom facilities, an educational room and a small residence for the director of the orphanage.

The vision for the Children of Christ Home is to provide a safe place for children who do not have a home, where they can experience the love of Christ, family, hope, acceptance, and encouragement.  It is a place where their physical health will be cared for and where they can earn an education to equip them to be people who can change the world.

Our director, Ydalia was hired in 2013.  Her calling to this ministry is an incredible story.

The first six children: Madride, Edna, Dana, Montrose, Gillote, and Jocelyn arrived at the orphanage in the fall 2013 and in February 2014 seven new children: Davinski, Helene, Kristona, Lovenica, Ruth, Stevenson, and Wideline came to be a part of our Children of Christ Home family.  The children have settled in so well that there is an obvious sense of family already within this group.

Many of you have already met the children or you plan to go to Haiti on a mission trip in 2016.  You will have the opportunity to play with them, love them, encourage them and be a part of their education.

We are asking you or your congregation to come alongside us to support these children.  Your sponsorship will help us provide Christian workers; a safe, clean place to live; clean water and good food; medical and dental care; clothing; field trips; security; education now and education in the future.  It is an all-inclusive project to raise up Christian leaders.

You can send $60 per month, a gift of $720 for a year or any other amount you would like to give to support the orphanage (visit our “How Can I Help?” page for details).

Hopefully, you or your group will plan a trip to Haiti and the Children of Christ Home in the very near future.

This is a long- term project that can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these children, in the local community, and in Haiti.

This is a video that was made on our February 2014 trip.  The vast majority is of the orphanage and I thought you would enjoy seeing the children and some pictures inside the orphanage:
